7) lychee Picante @ PALAPA Grill - Best Lychee Cocktail + Best Bar Atmosphere
PALAPA Grill in Simpson Bay has one of the best atmospheres in St Maarten. The unique, artsy atmosphere of PALAPA makes use of materials salvaged from 2017 Hurricane Irma. The dining room is framed by a scenic water garden, the entire venue is complemented by dozens of art pieces.
The Lychee Picante is the ultimate combination of sweet, savoury, and spicy that will keep your taste buds guessing with each sip.
8) Mojito Passion @ Lagoonies Bistro & Bar - Excellent Mojito + Most Sustainable Bar
Lagoonies Bistro Bar in Cole Bay wins our recommendation for the most sustainable restaurant in St Maarten and St Martin.
Lagoonies menu is very transparent: they try to source as much of their food + drink ingredients from local sources, they only give straws for the drinks that require them, and they source their compostable, sturdy, re-cycled straws from tequila distilleries.
The Mojito Passion is an excellent take on a passion fruit mojito, balancing the sweetness of passion fruit with a minty aftertaste.
9) Frozen Guavaberry Coconut @ Loterie Farm - SXM’s Unique Cocktail
Guavaberry is St Maarten and St Martin’s unique, nationalistic plant, there is even a museum dedicated to it in Philipsburg! That said it’s only fair that a guava berry cocktail ranks in the top 10.
The Frozen Guavaberry Cocktail @ Loterie Farm combines the plant with coconut creme and blends it with ice.
Loterie Farm is a private nature reserve on the French side with tree-top zip lines, hiking, a pool, a restaurant and a scenic bar with signature cocktails.
10) Al Fresco @ Roma/Mr.Chow - Great Cocktail + Elite Cocktail Variety
Roma Cucina and Mr Chow Asian Fusion share a restaurant space in Maho. Two different restaurant kitchens, but they share the same bar. If you sit at the bar or the tables near the bar, you can order from each restaurant’s food + drink menu. Access to two signature cocktail menus under one roof.
Bordersology recommends the Al Fresco @ Roma. If you have never tried a Southern European Al Fresco, it is like a gin mojito; sweet flavours combined with the earthy, piney taste of gin.

16) Passion Martini @ Captain Frenchy
Captain Frenchy in Grand Case is a great beach-side bar to lounge around and try cocktails. Captain Frenchy also has budget-friendly cocktail options compared to other restaurants in Grand Case like Rainbow Cafe or Ocean 82.
The Passion Martini is sometimes served in a martini glass, sometimes in a normal glass, but it is always delicious. Once you have tried one, you will find it hard to not order another and enjoy it under the hot sun!
